Health Education Program

Educators are available to keep our community informed about health related issues. We will gladly furnish speakers for special interest groups, schools or work sites upon request. We also have a broad library of informational brochures available at the health department.

  • Nutrition
  • Cardiovascular Activities
  • Healthy Heart Activities
  • First Aid
  • Tobacco Prevention: Cessation
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Asthma Awareness
  • Life Skills
  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases

The health department was also involved in several other activities designed to give youth an increased ability to interact and develop with positive tendencies. Just a few of these are:

  • Volunteer/Peer Mentoring
  • Esteem Building Workshops
  • Dance/Youth Activities
  • Adult Learning Opportunities
  • Abuse Awareness/Prevention Activities

Among the numerous other activities were presentations on lead, nutrition, and communicable diseases.

The Health Department offers a wide variety of services and is constantly exploring new ones. If you have any questions about the services provided by the Clay County Health Department or would like a speaker for your group, you may contact us by phone at (618) 662-4406 or stop in and talk to the staff. Our normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
