Healthy Families Illinois (HFI)

Healthy Families Illlinois is a free home visiting program for new parents and their infants.  This voluntary home visiting program seeks to strenthen parenting skills and enhance child health and development via one-on-one interaction between the HFI staff, parents and children.  Pregnant women and parents of newborns may be eligible to enroll in the program.   Families are invited to continue the program until the child is a minimum of three years and maximum of five years in age.

While enrolled in the HFI Program a Family Support Specialist will share information on:

  • Prenatal Care
  • Child safety
  • Confidence in Caregiving Skills
  • Stress Reduction
  • Attachment and bonding
  • Age Appropriate Discipline
  • Child Growth and Development
  • School Readiness and more….
